New Terminal to Be Built at Black Sea Batumi Port
A multimodal transit terminal is to be built at Georgia’s Black Sea Batumi Port. The terminal will have modern equipment able to store up to 60,000 tonnes of fertilizer.
Georgia’s Ministry of Economy has said that the new terminal will be a new mineral fertilizer terminal of regional importance. It should aid the growth of the Ajarian economy and Georgian economy as a whole. It will comply with environmental standards and regulations.
Wondernet Express, the international logistics company behind the project, will invest $20 million in the project. They have already invested in the Georgian Railway, Batumi Port, Azerbaijan Railways and Baku Port.
The new terminal will help to logistically connect Central Asian countries to the Black Sea via Azerbaijan and Georgia.
