Georgian PM Offers Condolences to Families of Deceased in Gas Explosion

Georgian Prime Minister, Mamuka Bakhtadze has offered his condolences to the families of the deceased four who died in a gas explosion in a block of flats in the Didi Dighomi district of Tbilisi on the evening of December 16.

“This is a terrible tragedy for all of us. Four people died, including a 4-year old child. I offer my condolences to the families,” the PM stated.

Bakhtadze added that six children remain in hospital and their health condition is stable.

“The doctors will make a decision in the morning whether to discharge the children or not,” he added.

He declared January 17 a day of mourning.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the explosion, which killed 4 and left 8 people injured.
