All Citizens of Georgia to Receive Vaccinations against Measles for Free
The Minister of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Davit Sergeenko, has stated that the vaccination against measles will be free of charge for all citizens of Georgia.
Relevant amendments will be approved at the government session today.
The population of the country is recommended to get vaccinated, especially if they cannot recall whether they were vaccinated in the past. Health officials claim that re-vaccinations will not carry any threat to a person's health.
“This especially concerns persons between the ages of 20 and 40. Children should be vaccinated according to the schedule, while people above 40 should be vaccinated only if they were in contact with measles”, declared Sergeenko.
Vaccination was free only for citizens under 40 years of age before.
