EBRD President Praises Georgian PM
EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti says that young leaders like the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze, change their countries.
“Georgia is ranked sixth place in the World Bank in terms of doing business rankings and takes place between South Korea and Norway, but the Prime Minister of the country says he wants it to be in the top three,” Suma Chakrabarti stated at the World Economic Forum, which is underway in Davos on January 22-25.
He believes that the Eurasian region has become one of the most dynamic.
"For many years during the Soviet era, the region was closed for the global economic system. During the last 25 years, we have seen the region has risen… I think the case is not only about the great states' interest in the region, but the region itself and its leadership have also changed, "EBRD president said.
Suma Chakrabarti noted that regional economic growth is 6.5% and it is thanks to the leaders of the countries, who decided to overcome the challenges.
