Global Energy Company to Develop Wind and Solar Energy in Georgia
ACCIONA, one of the world leaders of renewable energy, implementing international projects in 30 countries across the world, expressed interest in the development of wind and solar energy in Georgia.
ACCIONA delegation plans to pay a visit to Georgia next month, in order to observe the existing opportunities and capabilities of the country. The following decision was made at the meeting held between the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze and Rafael Mateo Ascala, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, within the framework of World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland today.
Georgian Prime Minister spoke on the investment climate and rich hydro resources of Georgia, low tax rates, leading position of the country in the Ease of Doing Business rankings and Georgian Co-Investment Fund (GCF) - the largest institution of its kind in Georgia.
Bakhtadze also noted that with the increasing rate of the consumption of power energy throughout the world, it is vital to find a rational use of untapped resources towards this end, as well as to seek maximum development of renewable sources of energy.
Along with the Prime Minister, meeting was attended by George Kobulia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and George Bachiashvili, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Georgian Co-Investment Fund (GCF).
