ID Cards to Be Issued Free of Charge for One Month
The citizens of Georgia will have an opportunity to change the paper, laminated ID cards free of charge for one month. The given initiative was launched by the Minister of Justice of Georgia Tea Tsulukiani.
Those residents of the country who have not received a modern, electronic identification document yet, and still use the paper one, can swap them for electronic ID cards for free. The program is to start today, February, 1, and will last until the end of the month.
To use the free service, citizens should go to the public service halls, offices of the State Services Development Agency (SSDA).
There have already been various projects implemented regarding the issuance process of the electronic ID card, and over 2.6 million citizens have benefited from them.
