8 mln USD to Be Invested in Solar Panels Plant

A large-scale project is scheduled to be carried out in Kutaisi. More specifically, as the Executive Director of Kutaisi Free Industrial Zone, Soso Nibladze, told bm.ge, one of the investors plans to allocate $8 million for the Kutaisi solar panel plant. He also added that the reconstruction process is now underway and after its completion, all the required equipment will be fixed on site.

“The plant will operate on 10,000 square meters and manufacture 200 megawatt panels,” said Nibladze, adding that the plant will have 100 employees.

The project is being launched by investments from Germany, particularly from the German-Mexican AE SOLAR.

Solar panels manufactured in Kutaisi will be sold in the USA, GULF countries and Europe, as well as on the local market of Georgia.
