Georgia Advances Position in EuCham Business Rating

The recent rating 'Best European countries for Business 2019' published by the European Chamber, reads that Georgia's rating has improved by two positions compared to the previous year, up from 18th to 16th place in the list of 46 European countries.

The rating reads that Georgia received 71 points, 1.98 points more compared to last year.

In the rating, Georgia is the leader in the region and also leads such countries as Lithuania (18th position), Latvia (19th position), Poland (20th position), Slovenia (22nd position), Czech Republic (23rd position), Slovakia (25th position), Belarus (27th position), Croatia (29th position), Macedonia (31st position), Hungary (32nd position), Turkey (34th position), Armenia (39th position), Kazakhstan (40th position), Moldova (42nd position), Russia (42nd position), Azerbaijan(44th position) and Ukraine (46th position).

EuCham ranks and analyzes all 46 European countries according to their economic environment. The ranking is the result of an analysis based on internationally recognized indexes of the World Bank and Transparency International. EuCham believes that business integrity and transparency play a strategic role.

Georgia’s Ministry of Economy reports that Georgia significantly improved its position in the Doing Business (DB) 2019 report of the World Bank (WB), coming in at 6th place out of 190 countries, improving its position by 3 points. In DB 2019, Georgia's score improved by 1.24 points and reached 83.28 points. Previously, Georgia’s score was 82.04 points.

Moreover, in the Corruption Perceptions Index of Transparency International, Georgia received an overall score of 58 out of 100 and took 41st place out of 180 countries, which is 5 positions more compared to last year’s rating.
