Fishing Now Easier in Georgia for People with Disabilities

A specialized fishing zone to improve access to recreational fishing opportunities for all members of the community has been established in Georgia's eastern region Kakheti.

The facility, located near Shilda, organized a fishing tournament to launch the fishing recreational area.

People with disabilities, including those in wheelchairs, participated in the tournament alongside professional fishermen.

The recreational area is the first in Georgia which enables people with disability to fish professionally.

“Fishing is my hobby and I am very happy with this development. I can finally enjoy my favorite hobby without too many hurdles.” said Giorgi Beredzenishvili, participant of the tournament.
