Ajaruli Khachapuri Named Dish of Year by af&co

American company af&co which specializes in restaurant and hospitality consultations has named traditional Georgian dish Ajaruli Khachapuri as the dish of the year.

The Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara region reports that Ajaruli Khachapuri was awarded the title of Dish of the Year thanks to its tasty combination of cheese and egg, and its instagramability.

In addition to this, earlier this year, the unique Georgian cheese-filled bread, Khachapuri, was the best-rated dish on the first global local food atlas, TasteAtlas.

Also, the same dish was named as the “must-have” dish by Eater NY.

“The dish has moved beyond traditional Georgian restaurants and onto bar and brunch menus of various cuisines, mutated into very unorthodox riffs,” the article reads.
