Hourly Parking Fee to Be Introduced in Tbilisi

From 1 July, car owners in Tbilisi will be required to pay an hourly parking fee.

Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze announced the new parking measures on February 20: "Zone parking was established in all developed European and overload cities long ago and is one of the most efficient measures to put the transport system in order", said Kaladze.

It is the first time that such measures will be introduced in Tbilisi. The council hopes that it will enable them to better regulate the traffic flow in the city.

The fee will depend on the zone and will not apply to vehicles parked close to the driver's home, or to those with disabilities. 

The exact prices are yet to be announced.
