February Inflation Rates Published by GeoStat

The National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) has published the report regarding the inflation rates in the month of February. The latest data shows that the annual inflation rate amounted to 2.3% last month. There was also the increase in the prices of a number of products, including tobacco and alcoholic beverages in February.

The prices on tobacco rose by 13% across the country, while the cost for strong drinks increased by 6.7% last month, compared to January. Increased rates, amounted to 3.4% were also faced by the healthcare sector. However, the prices in the categories of clothing and footwear decreased by 4.6% and 4.8% respectively.

In February, the consumer price index increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month.
