Heavy Rain Hits Georgia’s Seashore Region

Heavy rain hits Georgia’s Black Sea coastal regions, causing major flooding.

Adjara suffered from flash floods in a number of municipalities.

According to the local government, one of the resort towns, Kobuleti and its surrounding villages, were hit worst.

The flash flood prompted delays in railway traffic between Tbilisi and Batumi. The local government reports that strong winds caused severe damage to several homes.

Flooding was also reported in Adjara’s mountainous region. Farmlands of several families were damaged in Keda.

Locals are seeking immediate help from the Government.
