Warehouse in Didi Dighomi Catches Fire
23 fire-fighting brigades sought to extinguish an extensive fire that destroyed 1800 m2 territory of an electronics warehouse in Didi Digomi district of the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi.
The fire started on Sunday evening and quickly spread throughout the building.
The firefighters managed to save one person and several puppies from the building. No casualties have been reported.
Georgia’s State Security Service (SSS) reports that the puppies will be taken to the shelter where they will be taken care of.
The rescued man has been transferred to a hospital where he remains under the supervision of doctors.
The SSS says the fire has been put out but the fire-fighters remain on the spot to ensure there is no threat of further spread.
The exact cause of the fire is as yet unknown.
