Narcotics Found at Vale and Kartsakhi CCPs

Facts of illegal attempts to import drugs containing narcotic and psychotropic substances were revealed at Vale and Kartsakhi Customs Crossing Points (CCPs) on March 17-18.

On the basis of suspicion, after examination of the hand luggage of the citizens of Iran and Turkey, S.M. and D.M., the customs officers of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia found 185 pills of medicines containing narcotic (105 pills) and psychotropic (80 pills) substances.

The case has been transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia for further investigation. The investigation is being carried out according to Section 1 of Article 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
