Georgia Joins Global Earth Hour Campaign
Georgia joined the Global Earth Hour by switching off lights for an hour, participating in the worldwide movement to show solidarity with the planet.
People gathered at the Rike Park in Tbilisi to mark Earth Hour, show solidarity and being part of a worldwide movement. The lights went off in the administration buildings of the President, the Government of Georgia and the parliament building in Tbilisi between 20:30 and 21:30.
In total 188 countries and territories worldwide participated in the Earth Hour 2019 to speak up for nature and inspire urgent action for the environment. The world´s largest grassroots movement for environment aims to show solidarity for our planet and challenge world leaders to push the preservation of nature up the global agenda.
