Regional Director: Georgia Is One of Key Partners of EBRD

Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Caucasus, Bjorlin Hansen, noted that Georgia is one of the key and most stable partners of the EBRD.

She made the statement at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze.

The sides discussed the performance of EBRD in Georgia and its plans for the future at the meeting. Bjorlin Hansen expressed her gratitude to the Head of the Government of Georgia for the fruitful cooperation.

Bakhtadze said the EBRD is one of the key partners in infrastructure development. He noted that two years ago, the EBRD was one of the prime international financial institutions that started to invest in the regions of the country and that this has led to tangible results in infrastructure development.

He added that Georgia plans to complete all ongoing infrastructure projects within a few years and move towards new priority areas, such as education.

Hansen answered that the international financial institution (IFI) stands ready to support Georgia in developing the infrastructure within the process of education system reform.
