MFA Does Not Confirm Georgian Citizen Was Wounded in Malta Shooting

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Georgia does not confirm that one Georgian citizen was wounded in shooting in Malta on April 6.

The ministry said that law enforcers have not identified the wounded persons yet.

One person was killed and three were injured as a result of a conflict in one of the cities of Malta. One of the injured persons was reported to be a citizen of Georgia.

Local newspaper Lovin Malta reports that an unknown gunman opened fire on a group of people last night towards the fields of Triq Tal-Ġebel between Ħal-Far and Birżebbuġa at around 11 pm on Saturday.

“The shooting was reported by one of the victims, a 45-year-old man from Georgia, who made the call after being shot. The shooter is currently unidentified and still on the run, however, police are said to be on the lookout for a Toyota Starlet,” the article reads.
