JSC Nenskra Hydro Starts Heavy Machinery Operators Training Program in Svaneti
The Nenskra Hydropower Plant (HPP) Project Company, JSC Nensrka Hydro has started implementing the heavy machinery operators training program for the local population of the villages of Chuberi and Nakra in the Mestia Municipality. At the first stage of the project, the company will ensure the preparation of 60 individuals. In order to guarantee the high quality professional education, JSC Nenskra Hydro has launched the relevant contract with the Spectrum College.
Within the scope of the program, the tutors of the Spectrum College will train the operators of end tipper, excavator, loading machine and grader.
The theoretical part of the course will take place in the villages of Chuberi and Nakra, while the beneficiaries will take the practical courses in Tbilisi. All the expenses related to the program will be covered by the JSC Nenskra Hydro.
“1000 workplaces are set to be created after the launch of the active phase of the Nenskra HPP construction, where the local population will represent the priority. The qualification of the employees to be relevant to the standards of the international construction companies, JSC Nenskra Hydro has made a decision to support the local residents in terms of the professional retraining and finance the training-courses for the operators of the most important parts of the heavy machinery for our project. In addition, it is our major goal not only to support the locals to become trained for the Nenskra HPP project, but also contribute to the increase of their competitiveness on the labor market,” stated Teimuraz Kopadze, Chief Operations Officer.
JSC Nenskra Hydro is a project-based company established 2015 as a result of cooperation between Korea Water Resources Corporation K-water and JSC Partnership Fund. The company will construct the Nenskra Hydropower Plant in the Nenskra and Nakra river Valleys in Mestia Municipality of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. The 280 MW Nenskra Hydropower Plant will generate approximately 1’200.00 GWh of electricity annually, which will be fully consumed by the Georgian market. Along with the construction activities, JSC “Nenskra Hydro” is implementing a range of social projects targeted at sustainable development of the region. The social projects are being implemented primarily in the areas of vocational training, small-scale infrastructure rehabilitation and small and medium enterprises development.
