Female Drivers to Begin to Drive Buses in Tbilisi

Public buses in Tbilisi will begin to have female drivers for the first time.

Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze stated that 21 women have been trained to drive buses. They have passed their Category D driver’s license, allowing them to drive public transport vehicles.

“Six women will join the Tbilisi Transport Company to drive public transport vehicles,” said Kaladze.

The women were trained as part of a training program which is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
