Georgia Takes the 11th Place at the European Girl’s Mathematical Olympiad
The European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) is an international competition in mathematics. Each participating country has a team of four female high school students. During the week of competition, contestants take two papers, each consisting of three problems requiring full proof, on consecutive days.
This year, the competition occurred in Kyiv between the 7th and 13th of April and welcomed 196 candidates. The Georgian team took the 11th position out of 50 teams with 88 points. It is the best score Georgia ever achieved in such competition. The Georgian team was composed of the following girls: Ana Onoprishvili, Tamar Korkitashvili, Mariam Ivardava and Keti Sulamanidze. They all study at N199 Public School of Tbilisi.
