Nenskra Hydro to Rehabilitate the Culture House and Sports Complex in Chuberi

Nenskra HPP Project Company - JSC "Nenskra Hydro" will carry out renovation-rehabilitation works of the Culture House and Sports Complex in the village Chuberi in Mestia municipality.

The company has announced a tender on the implementation of the mentioned project. The project area is 1100 square meters. JSC "Nenskra Hydro" will cover the full cost of design, construction and equipment.

Since 2017, in parallel with the construction works, the company has been implementing a number of social projects in Nenskra and Nakra Gorges, which are directed towards sustainable development of the region. Social projects are mainly implemented in the field of vocational education, small infrastructure rehabilitation and to support of SMEs.

“In the village Chuberi where the population is 1200, there are only two public schools, but none of them has appropriate infrastructure for cultural and sport events. The renovated Culture House and Sports Complex shall give ability to the youth in Chuberi to master desired field of art and enjoy modern sports infrastructure. In this way, the company will promote cultural development of Chuberi and popularize healthy lifestyle in young people”, said Teimuraz Kopadze, Chief Operations Officer of JSC "Nenskra Hydro".

JSC “Nenskra Hydro” was founded in 2015 as an outcome of cooperation between K-Water, Korea Water Resource Corporation, and JSC Partnership fund. The company will construct a high-dam HPP in Mestia Municipality, in the valleys of the Nenskra and Nakra. The HPP with 280 MW of installed capacity will annually provide Georgia with total energy generation of 1'200.00 GWh which will be fully consumed by the local energy market. Along with the construction activities, JSC “Nenskra Hydro” is implementing a range of social projects targeted at sustainable development of the region. The social projects are being implemented primarily in the areas of vocational training, small-scale infrastructure rehabilitation and small and medium enterprises.
