US Embassy Demanded Public Explanations From Rustavi 2

The United States Embassy to Georgia has asked TV company Rustavi 2 to give a public explanation after it released information which turned out to be false.

The information said that an American female Cadet was allegedly harassed by a Georgian cadet at the Gori Military Academy.

The information was not confirmed by the Embassy and they requested the TV company pull back the information.

Rustavi 2 TV Show Courier released an explanation.

“Employees of the US Embassy together with the Georgian side investigated the case of possible violence. The Courier was informed from the embassy that the fact of violence was not confirmed," the TV company stated.
