Tbilisi Wind Festival Begins Today!
Tbilisi Wind Festival 2015 begins today, bringing an array of amazing events throughout October. Today the Tbilisi State Conservatory Big Hall is hosting an evening dedicated to Gia Kancheli’s 80th birthday. The event starts at 19:00, so come along and enjoy. It is sure to be an unforgettable evening.
15th October
At TBC Bank Gallery will present L. van Beethoven; F. Schubert – Auf dem Strom for soprano, horn and piano D. 943; F. Schubert - Der Hirt auf dem Felsen for soprano, clarinet and piano D.965; J-B Arban. Also will be presented M. Arnold, G. Enesco – Légende for trumpet and piano G. Connesson and piano J. Françaix. Kersten McCall with Agata Igras-Sawicka; Giorgi Gvantseladze and Zurab Gvantseladze and other participants. The event starts at 19:30.
16th October
Tbilisi Conservatory Recital Hall presents music from W.A. Mozart and E. Carter at 19:00
After an intermission music from L. van Beethoven will begin with Quintet for piano and winds in E flat major, Op.16
Giorgi Gvantseladze and Zurab Gvantseladze are playing the oboe, Barbara Borowicz and Levan Tskhadadze on clarinet and Amy Harman and Shmavon Grigoryan playing bassoon among others. Don’t miss it!
18th October
At the Conservatory Recital hall at 19:00 there will be a wind quintet performance featuring G. Kancheli and a performance by R. Strauss of ‘Serenade’.
After the intermission the performances continue with G. Kancheli’s Magnum Ignotum and J. Françaix’s Sept Danses d'après le ballet 'Les Malheurs de Sophie'. Come along and don’t miss out!
