Russian Bikers Banned from Entering Georgia
Georgian border police prevented a group of Russian bikers from entering the country.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia stated the bikers failed to provide information, or provided false information, about their identity and purpose of travel. According to the press service of the agency, the refusal of entry was carried out in accordance with Article 11 of the Law of Georgia on Aliens and Stateless Persons.
EA Daily reports that around 30 bikers were going to Greece to attend a bikers' event to be held on May 1-2.
The article reads that the bikers were not only from Russia but from other CIS countries too.
Georgia also denied entry to Russian bikers in 2017, a group belonging to the notorious gang called Night Wolves, headed by Alexander Zaldostanov (nicknamed Surgeon), who claims to be a friend of the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In 2017, the bikers were planning to enter Georgia to celebrate the May 9 Victory Day, a holiday that commemorates the surrender of the Nazis in 1945.
