Georgia Exports 26 Million Wine Bottles in January-April
Twenty-six million bottles of wine were exported from Georgia in January-April 2019 to 38 countries worldwide that is 4% higher than the similar data of 2018.
The information was released by the National Wine Agency (NWA) on May 6. The agency reports that the exported wine income amounted to $63.2 million, 7% more than the same period in 2018.
Wine export from Georgia in January-April increased to the strategic markets:
The USA -108% (219,713 bottles)
China - 22% (2,192,025)
Poland - 16% (1,173,850)
Export growth was observed in Israel - 102% (106,572), Belarus - 88% (604,076), France - 81% (43,938), Mongolia - 72% (106,452), Canada - 70% (66,960), Netherlands - 37% (40,930), Estonia - 15% (214,502), Lithuania - 4% (179,370) and Russia- 4% (16,850,331).
Moreover, 8.4 million bottles of brandy were exported to 16 countries worldwide, 67% more than the same period in 2018. Exported brandy income amounted to $18 million (growth 74%).
140.000 bottles of Chacha was exported to 18 countries worldwide, a growth amounting to 68%. Exported Chacha income amounted to $382,000.
