Mtkvari River to Be Cleaned of Waste
On May 7, Tbilisi City Hall put into action a new initiative to clean up the polluted Mtkvari River. The project started at the territory adjacent to Metekhi Bridge and is set to clear all the waste, including plastics bottles and polybags, from the river after the completion of relevant works.
‘Tbilservice Group’ Ltd and the Municipal Department of Infrastructure Development are in charge of implementing the initiative.
David Dolidze, Deputy Director of Tbilservice Group, made a statement regarding this issue and said that the project is being carried out on the request of the Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze. He also noted that the works will continue for the next few days, if necessary, until the river is cleaned entirely.
