Irakli Kovzadze Meets the Head of IMF
Chairman of Parliament’s Finance-budget Committee, Irakli Kovzadze met up with Mercedes Vera-Martin, the head of IMF – International Monetary Fund.
The meeting covered the topics of current macroeconomic Georgian parameters, economic development tendencies in the region as well as the successful completion of the state budget. The Resident Representatives of IMF in Georgia, Francois Painchaud also attended the event.
Other economic issues were subjects of interest on the meeting, including but not limited to, accumulated pension reform and the crucial improvement of regulation on the capital market. As it was noted on the meeting, the government is actively working on intensifying of supervision on the financial sector, for the existing law to be perfectly relevant to the inarguably best international practice.
