Marneuli Water Supply and Wastewater Rehabilitation to be Completed in 2021
Maia Tskitishvili, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, recently traveled to the city of Marneuli south of Tbilisi to visit local government representatives in connection with the city’s water supply and wastewater rehabilitation, the Ministry said in a press release.
The United Water Supply Company of Georgia is undertaking the rehabilitation as part of the Urban Services Improvement Investment Program, a $56 million project financed by the Asian Development Bank.
The project involves the construction of a raw water pumping station, three reservoirs, sewers, sewage pumping stations and the laying of hundreds of kilometers of pipe. The system will service over 50,000 people living in Marneuli and six surrounding villages, Minister Tskitishvili said.
The project is slated for completion in March 2021.
