Amendments to Be Applied to Georgia-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement
On May 21, within the scope of the 2nd informal Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) Ministerial plenary session held in Kiev, Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Stepan Kubiv, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, signed a protocol on introducing amendments to the free trade agreement between the two countries.
The representatives of Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova were participating in the event, organized by Cecilia Malmstrom, European Commissioner in Trade Issues.
“We have signed a protocol with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, within which particular additions have been applied to the current agreement on free trade. The shifts have been catalyzed by the fact that all the participant countries of the DCFTA are moving forwards, the priorities are changing and we now have the possibility to collaboratively manufacture products and export them to the EU market,” Turnava stated.
