Ministry of Internal Affairs Destroy Drugs Worth 55 Million GEL

The Ministry of Internal Affairs have destroyed illegal drugs worth 55 million Lari, they reported today.

The drugs, linked to 737 criminal cases, were destroyed by police in the presence of a standing committee and representatives from various ministries.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs destroyed over 178 kilograms of heroin, 2088 “subutex” pills, 590 pills containing codeine, 38,471 grams of methadone, 525 pills containing tramadol as well as other psychoactive substances.

The drugs were destroyed in a high-temperature oven according to environmental standards.
