Giorgi Molodinashvili on Kazbegi Tragedy
On June 8, Giorgi Molodinashvili, the Deputy CEO of the Aviator + Company, hosted a press conference at the Rooms Hotel Tbilisi regarding the helicopter crash, which took place in Kazbegi, Mtskheta-Mtianeti region on June 6, causing the deaths of all three individuals onboard.
Molodinashvili started the speech by expressing his condolences.
“First of all I would like to express my deepest condolences regarding the tragedy of June 6, as a result of which, we lost three of our employees,” he said.
At the press conference, Giorgi Molodinashvili stated that it is of vital importance to put the end to the wrong information and speculations that have been spreading for the past two days regarding the case, and called upon the society not to make any early assumptions and respect the families of deceased.
The Deputy CEO spoke about the case itself, claiming that the helicopter, launched in the USA, was functioning properly. In addition, it went through the technical inspection procedure on May 22 this year, followed by the test flight, all in accordance with regulations. Molodinashvili represented the relevant document to the attendees and noted it was only after the technical procedures that the company was allowed to carry out commercial flights with the given helicopter.
He also briefed about the disinformation that the weight balance was not maintained during the flight and focused on the qualification of the pilot. Giorgi Molodinashivli stated that the pilot had been trained in the USA, was highly-experienced in the field and said that his loss is a real tragedy.
Finally Molodinashvili noted, this is the case of international importance and that the company is collaborating with the investigation services, as it is among its interests to discover the reasons of the tragedy and prevent any similar cases in future.
