Two Young People Drown in Car in Svaneti

Two young men have been found dead in Georgia's mountainous region of Svaneti, Mestia Municipality. The rescuers found both of them drowned in a car after two days of searching. 

The tragic accident occurred on Late Friday, June 8, when for unclear reasons, a car with a driver and a passenger of 22 and 23 years old rammed the barrier of the bridge on the way to the village of Becho and fell into a local river.

The rescuers had been searching for two young people, Amiran Gvidani and Vazhiko Zhorzholiani, since Friday. According to the Emergency Management Service, the flooded river Dolra and difficult local terrain made it hard to conduct search operations.
