Middle-aged Man Arrested for Raping 16-year-old Girl

A 40-year-old man has been arrested for having sexual intercourse with a minor in Kakheti, Lagodekhi Municipality. 

According to the girl's lawyer, the article was re-qualified and the man was charged under Article 137 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (rape). 

As the lawyer said, police questioned the juvenile who described the act of sexual violence and pressure against her in detail. 

The juvenile gave birth to a child in May, which is still in Lagodekhi hospital.  In case of conviction, the man faces 10 to 13 years imprisonment.

The family of the juvenile demands the strictest punishment of the abuser. 

The trial will be held tomorrow.
