Kovzanadze: Money and Credit and Supervisory Policy was Adequate in 2018
“The competence of the National Bank is defined in two core directions – stability of prices and financial sustainability. The year of 2018 may be considered successful in terms of both,” stated Irakli Kovzanadze, Chairman of Budget and Financial Committee, at the presentation of the annual report of 2018 by the President of the National Bank Koba Gvenetadze.
Kovzanadze noted that inflation was within the targeted limits last year, whereas the financial market maintained a high level of liquidity and solvency, related to the banking system in first place. In addition, there was a set of activities carried out and new regulation implemented in 2018, including in non-credit operation.
“I believe it can be said that money and credit, or the monetary and supervisory policy of the National Bank, was adequate and successful in 2018,” noted Kovzanadze.
