New 5-Star Hotel to Be Launched in Mestia

The hospitality industry has become of paramount importance for Georgia for the past few years, seeing the launch of multiple interesting attractions countrywide for both domestic and international tourists. The region of Svaneti is among those go-to destinations with high potential and popularity.

Following this trend, Irakli Gurchiani, the founder of Toyota Tbilisi Center, is planning to build a 5-star hotel in Mestia, the "capital" of the Svaneti region. The hotel is to be second of his launched following the Gistola hotel, the construction of which will start in 2020.

Gurchiani told Business Media Georgia that the 4-story hotel will boast 150 rooms and its total investment cost amounts to 10 million EUR. The hotel will welcome its first guests in 2022.

“If  stability remains, the hotel business has high potential in Georgia. We have an increase of 30-40% in tourism annually,” noted Gurchiani.
