Heavy Rain Floods Buildings in Tbilisi

Many of the first floors of buildings were flooded due to heavy rain in Tbilisi on June 18.

During the night Emergency Management Service (EMS) Center 112 received more than 60 notifications, with  the majority of them related to flooding.

The EMS say they have been pumping water all night and are continuing works this morning.

112 received most of the notifications about flooding from the residents of the Vake-Saburtalo, Gldani-Nadzaladevi and Isani-Samgori districts of Tbilisi.

They say water level monitoring of the rivers Vere, Dighmistskali, Gldaniskhevi, Leghvtakhevi, Krtsanisis Khevi, Orkhevi, Varaziskhevi, and Khevdzmari is ongoing. At this stage, the situation in the Tbilisi rivers is stable and under control.
