Session of Inter-parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy Canceled

The session of Inter-parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy being held at the Parliament of Georgia has been canceled after protests. The session will be held in another location.

The Secretary-General Andrias Mikhailidis made a statement following the protest of opposition political parties "European Georgia" and "United National Movement".

Delegates of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy have already left the Parliament building. 

Zakaria Kutsnashvili, the head of the Georgian delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, claimed that the session will continue in another building, but he did not specify the location.

The session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy was canceled after European Georgia MPs refused to allow Russian deputy Sergey Gavrilov to re-enter the hall after the break.

The session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy was led by Russian deputy Sergey Gavrilov.
