Sergei Gavrilov on the Incident of June 20
Russian MP Sergei Gavrilov, who was forced to leave firstlParliament and then Georgia yesterday, following anger at his speech from the seat of the Georgian Parliament Speaker, has stated that a number of Georgian MPs apologized to him.
“We were forced to leave Parliament and continue the Assembly in a hotel,” said Gavrilov, noting that there were no security guarantees for the participants of the Assembly. “We have accepted apologies offered by a number of members of the Georgian Parliament,” stated the Russian Official.
“I think it is necessary for the Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office and Law Enforcement Agencies to hold extremists accountable, including those Georgian MPs who were threatening to apply physical force,” said Gavrilov.
