Zurabishvili Suspends Visit to Belarus

Due to the recent developments, Salome Zurabishvili, the President of Georgia, has suspended her official visit to Belarus and is to return to Georgia later today.  

“I am returning to Tbilisi to find out more about the situation following yesterday’s incident, as well as the condition of those injured during the clashes on site. This is of vital importance,” stated Zurabishvili.

The President traveled to Belarus on June 20 to attend the official opening ceremony of the 2nd European Games, taking place in Minsk, and support Georgian athletes.
