Putin Bans Flights to Georgia

Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, has signed a decree according to which, from July 8, Russian airlines are banned from flying to Georgia and transporting Russian citizens to this destination.

The decision was made after recent developments in Georgia and the escalation of tensions across the country as a result of large-scale demonstrations.

Putin also tasked the Minister Cabinet to bring the citizens of Russia currently in Georgia, back to their homeland.

The document also recommends Russian tour operators to avoid offering trips to Georgia to clientele.
