Bulgarian Patriarch Calls on the Nation to Visit Georgia in Summer

Bulgarian Patriarch Neofit calls on the Bulgarian nation to spend summer in Georgia and visit the country’s religious sights. The Patriarch also stated that the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria is to add Georgia’s holy places to the list of pilgrimage destinations that the local church advises its parish to visit.

Through such action, the Bulgarian Patriarchate is to encourage religious tourism and promote Georgia as a go-to destination in this respect.

Major campaigns supporting Georgia in terms of boosting tourism commenced after the decision of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to ban direct flights from Russia to Georgia from July 8.
