The first charter flight from Tallinn landed in Batumi earlier today.  The first guests from the Estonian capital were hosted by Tinatin Zoidze, Head of Tourism Service Division of the Batumi Tourism Agency. At Batumi International Airport, the travelers were welcomed with a folk show and a Georgian wine tasting.

The flight brought 180 tourists, 90% of whom are planning to spend a week in the region and explore. Smartlynx Airlines Company is to offer charter flights from Tallinn to Batumi once a week, and will carry them out with the Airbus A320 aircraft.

“Estonia is a new tourist market for Ajara, where we have been actively advertising our region for the past few years,” stated Tinatin Zoidze. “Even now, trams branded with promotional images of the region attract the attention of the residents of Tallinn. In addition, there is an increasing trend of Estonians travelers in Ajara. Our strategy, based on the popularization of the region in the 16 target countries, which we have been carrying out for a number of years, is aimed at the diversification of markets and attraction of more European tourists. As a result, we have launched charter flights,” noted Zoidze.

The charter flights from Tallinn to Batumi are offered by the tourist companies Ajara Tour and Tez Tour.
