Bidzina Ivanishvili's House in Shekvetili: Protestors' New Location

Georgia is still protesting. Since June 20, the capital city hasn’t missed a day without expressing public objection to the government’s recent decisions and Russia’s occupation of 20% of the country. The regions of Georgia have joined in and today a protest simultaneously took place in front of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s villa in Shekvetili.

The main demand of the protestors standing their ground in Shekvetili was the resignation of Giorgi Gakharia, the Minister of Internal Affairs. “Punish Gakharia”, “Bloody Gakharia Must Resign” – read the banners. Three citizens have announced a voluntary hunger strike in protest at Gakharia not leaving his post.
