One Detained for Bribery in Ajara
Within the framework of an investigation, the employees of the Anti-Corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia, organized along with the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, has detained Ilia Sirabidze, Head of the LEPL National Food Agency of the Ajara Regional Division on charges of bribery.
The state Security Service states that Sirabadze has demanded and received a bribe amounted to 3,300 GEL form an entrepreneur, for issuing the veterinary certificate, obligatory for moving the cattle beyond the borders of Georgia.
The relevant investigation has already been commenced by the Anti-Corruption Agency under the State Security Service in accordance with the Section 1 of the Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The offender is to receive 6 to 9 years imprisonment.
