Elizabeth Rood Encourages People to Travel to Georgia
Elizabeth Rood, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the United States of America to Georgia, was interviewed by The Movement TV, where she shared her views and impressions of Georgia and offered some tips to travelers who want to discover it.
“People should come to Georgia because it is a beautiful country, a friendly and safe country,” stated Rood, adding “It has the most fabulous nature of any country I have ever visited. Everything about Georgia is fabulous for visitors to see.”
The American official also noted that due to the friendly and hospitable attitude of the Georgian people to guests, she feels at home here and shared her experience of traveling across the different regions of the country, accentuating the affordability of visiting Georgia in comparison with other Western countries.
Rood also commented on the recent flight ban applied by Russia to Georgia, stating that it is “an unnecessary and disproportionate Russian reaction to the events that have happened recently in Georgia.” In addition, she said there are no reasons for the Russian Federation not to lift this restriction.
“We encourage people to come and see this fabulous country,” said the Chargé d’Affaires at the end of the interview.
