Malkhaz Machalikashvili not Allowed to Set up Tent in front of Parliament

Malkhaz Machalikashvili, a father of Temirlan Machalikashvili, a 19-year-old youth killed during the special operation in Pankisi Gorge in December 2017, plans to set up a tent in front of the Parliament building again to continue demanding the explanations from police in connection with the murder of his son, but police did not allow him to do it.

According to Kakha Bukhradze, Head of Patrol Police Department, setting up a tent on this territory is unreasonable at this stage, as rehabilitation works are planned to be launched here soon. 

However, Malkhaz Machalikashvili still intends to set up a tent in front of the Parliament building and demands explanations and evidence from police regarding the murder of his son Temirlan Machalikashvili.

“They say that rehabilitation works should be launched here, so we are not allowed to set up the tents. Finally, no rehabilitation works were conducted. I intend to set up a small tent. It is a small tent. My protest has not been stopped for the last 11 months. Tell me the reasons why they killed my son. I f he was an offender, then show me any evidence, if he was not – let the state recognize its crime. They should recognize have killed a sleeping child and declared him as a terrorist to justify their crime,” Machalikashvili said.
