Khazaradze and Japaridze Leave Posts at ADC
After leaving the positions of the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of TBC Bank, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze are leaving the posts in Anaklia Board of Governors.
According to Mamuka Khazaradze, who is also a founder of Anaklia Development Consortium, the relevant statement will be made next week in order to put end to speculations.
As he told journalists, the government directly fights against Anaklia Port Project, so he and Badri Japaridze made such decision in order that the charges against them would not have any influence on the Anaklia Development Consortium activities.
“Badri and I decided to hold a press conference in the next week and announce changes in the Anaklia Board of Governors. I will leave the chairman’s position and Badri will resign as deputy chairman to end speculations once and for all”, Khazaradze said.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia charged Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze on July 24, 2019.
According to the agency, the two are accused of the laundering of $16 754 000.
“Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze are charged for the laundering of $16 754 000, as a result of which they received a large amount of income”, reads the statement of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia launched an investigation into laundering by the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TBC Bank on 2 August 2018.
