MIA Arrests two More Persons for Group Violence on June 20
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has arrested two more persons on charges of group violence during June 20-21 Rally in front of the Parliament building, one of them, Moris Machalikashvili, is the nephew of Malkhaz Machalikashvili, a father of Temirlan Machalikashvili, a 19-year-old youth killed during the special operation in Pankisi Gorge in December 2017.
Namely, the investigation established that M.M., born in 1993, attacked law enforcers using physical force and was actively involved in various acts of group violence, while G. K., born in 1976, used the rubber belt against law enforcers and participated in group violence.
It is noteworthy that in total 19 persons, including the opposition leader Nikanor Melia, have been charged with the organizing, heading and participating in group violence during the anti-occupation demonstrations in Tbilisi on June 20-21.
