Accident in Tusheti - Truck, Carrying 12 people, Falls into Ravine

Road accident occurred in Tusheti, the mountainous region in northeast Georgia. “Kamaz” type truck, carrying 12 people, has been fallen into the ravine in Tusheti from 200 meters height. reportedly, there were 12 people in the truck, 5 of them managed to jump out of it the car, while others fell into the ravine.

All the passengers are the residents of village Alvani, Akhmeta municipality of Kakheti region.

The rescue operation on the spot lasted for several hours. The helicopter was also involved in the rescue operation.

Currently, the injured are being taken to the hospital of Telavi, a city of Georgia's Kakheti region. 

Official information about the exact number of injured persons is not available at this time.

"At this stage, it was established that the driver of the truck could not control the steering wheel and the car fell into the ravine. The incident has left passengers injured, "- reads the information spread by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
